THE "ROLLING ROAD"--AN IMPROVED SERVICE ON OFFER IN PIGGYBACK TRAFFIC

DIE "ROLLENDE LANDSTRASSE"--EIN VERBESSERTES ANGEBOT IM HUCKEPACKVERKEHR

As a result of efforts to modernize combined transport, the German Federal Railway will extend its piggyback services in the spring of 1981 for complete road trains and semi-trailers. With 200 newly constructed Saadkms 690 type flat cars in service, four additional connections will be introduced on the "Rolling road". This new facility will be used in the same way for both domestic and international road freight traffic, which gives road transport enterprises the possibility of participating more intensively in combined railroad traffic without the need for the special internal adaptation measures previously required.
