SOME VIEWS ON TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES -- WITH EMPHASIS ON PARKING AND ENERGY USE

The paper deals with a range of effective actions that have been proposed to reduce energy consumption, relieve traffic congestion, augment transit use, reduce air and noise pollution, and, in general, enhance the mobility of central business areas. Two of these strategies are critically examined, namely, parking strategies and congestion pricing.
