SLOW CRACK GROWTH AND DELAYED FAILURE OF GRANITE

Delayed failure of granite was measured at two values of constant applied stress. An analysis was developed to determine from these data the rate of growth of pre-existing cracks. The results are expressed in terms of crack-growth velocity as a function of the stress intensity factor. (TRRL)
