LANDSLIDES ASSOCIATED WITH RAINFALL
The various causes and types of landslide associated with rainfall have been examined with particular reference to the conditions experienced in Japan. The key parameters have been identified. From the examples given some preliminary guidelines have been proposed as a step towards the problem of predicting landslides. Finally, preventive measures have been discussed and examples given of construction methods used to counter potential landslide situations. (Author/TRRL)
