Various aspects of reinforced and prestressed concrete technology were dealt with at this conference including theoretical and experimental studies, standards and applications. Works on investigations of the properties of materials are collected together in the first section. In particular a study was made of the influence of oxidation and mortar stains on adhesion in reinforced concrete and a comparison made of results obtained from different methods of measuring adhesion. On the subject of anchorages, a mechanism is presented for gradually applying transversal anchoring stress, and a method is given for determining stresses in the head of the anchorage. In addition a study has been made of the process of fissuration in steels and the methods of analysis used to determine stress corrosion of steels. Questions concerning quality control of steels based on tests of flexural failure and predictions from relaxation tests are dealt with and also the influence of pre-loading and different deformation states on resistance and micro cracking. Several design procedures are presented for reinforced concrete components and studies on small scale models of bridges. Finally contributions to the structural investigation of concrete bridges for roads and motorways are presented where comment is made on geometric and structural characteristics and on construction methods employed.
