BIOFOULING PREVENTION ON FLAT SURFACES USING IN-SITU ELECTROLYSIS OF SEA WATER
This paper describes an electrolysis system which prevents biofouling of flat surfaces. In addition to describing the fundamental mechanisms of the electrode processes, results of sea water test with flat metal plates are given. The effects of panel orientation and electrode configuration are discussed. Results for unique electrode designs which minimized calcareous deposits on the cathode are given.
