DESIGN IMPROVEMENTS AS A RESULT OF INCREASED REQUIREMENTS IN THE C.P. PROPELLER FIELD

KONSTRUKTIVE FORTSCHRITTE ALS FOLGE ERHOEHTER ANFORDERUNGEN AM BEISPIEL VON VERSTELLPROPELLERANLAGEN

This paper describes design specifications for controllable pitch propellers. Following an introduction to a computer program producing the wake field induced vibratory loads on the blade and blade suspension, an evaluation of the two major blade bearing principles, the collar and trunnion bearing concept is given. A separate section deals with aspects of load control system design aiming at improved overload protection and optimizing propulsion plant operation.
