THE VCR SHIP: MOVING TOWARDS UNITISED REEFER CARGOES
A reasonable solution to flexible adaptation of reefer ships to palletized, containerized or conventional refrigerated cargo is described. The author discusses future demands of the reefer trade, research and development of reefer cargo transportation, reefer container ships, the Versatile Conflat Reefer (VCR) concept, and cost and technical comparison between conventional reefer and VCR ships.
