EXPERIENCES IN THE PUBLIC ROADS ADMINISTRATION WITH BOLTS ANCHORED BY USE OF POLYESTER

The road authority of the county of Sogn og Fjordane has placed more than 60000 rockbolts during the last few years. The results are very good. Even though more than 30000 bolts are placed directly at the heading, not a single one is reported to be loosened due to blasting of rounds. The bolts are also regarded as part of the permanent support because the bolts, nuts and plates are zinc-treated. (a) (TRRL)
