COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF VARIOUS OPTIMIZATION MODELS FOR LINKED TRAFFIC SIGNALS
VERGLEICHENDE BEWERTUNG VERSCHIEDENER OPTIMIERUNGSMODELLE FUER KOORDINIERTE LICHTSIGNALSTEUERUNG
Numerous optimization models are available for linked signal programmes (Brooks model, IBM; combination method 1966; Verof model, 1972; Prost model 1974). These determine the green light setting in the context of the basic aims of the model. An attempt is made to work out how far the manner in which the traffic flow is taken into consideration or how the number of aims in these optimization models affect the quality of the traffic flow. The results make it possible to draw up important parameters for the coordination process on the basis of numerous simulation studies. (TRRL)
