BRAKING FORCE AMPLIFIER
BREMSKRARFTVERSTAERKER
A new variation in braking devices uses hydraulic energy from the pump of the servo-control to increase the pedal pressure in braking. The ATE H-31 system is an attempt to assist the manufacturers of motor vehicles to reduce vehicle weights and it requires only 30% approximately of the space of a pressure amplifier of comparable power and also possesses a larger safety reserve in the event of failure of the energy source. The construction and the method of operation of braking force amplifiers of series t 50 and T 52 are explained. In addition, advice is provided regarding the fitting of fault indicators, including the facility for checking functioning with testing devices. (TRRL)
