NEW INFORMATION ON AXLE MEASUREMENT

NEUE ERKENNTNISSE BEI DER ACHSVERMESSUNG

A recently developed electronic wheel adjustment measuring instrument is described which can be used to provide the following measurements: total tracking of the front wheels, single tracking of the front wheels to the geometric axis of the vehicle, total tracking of the rear wheels, single tracking of the rear wheels to the symmetrical axis of the vehicle, the camber of all four wheels, and the angle of difference between the tracking of the front wheels. A complete set of measurements takes only ten minutes and can be carried out by one man. Once the equipment has been incorporated into the vehicle the tester only has to read off the values via push buttons. The measurement procedure is described in detail. (TRRL)
