DESIGN OF RAILWAY BRIDGES IN REINFORCED CONCRETE AND PRESTRESSED CONCRETE
BEMESSUNG VON EISENBAHNBRUECKEN AUS STAHLBETON UND SPANNBETON
The fatigue behaviour of reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete structures subjected to bending, shear and torsion is studied with the aid of a truss model with variable inclination of the concrete compression diagonals. Determination of the stress under working conditions is carried out in accordance with elastic theory. On the basis of the theory described a new design proposal is worked out, which has already been used on railway bridges. Design aids have been developed to facilitate design for fatigue.
