STORM TIDE WARNING SERVICE EXTENDS FORECASTS
The article examines the methods used in both positive and negative tide surge forecasting. The prediction methods used by the Storm Tide Warning Service in the United Kingdom are outlined and special emphasis is given to the development of the negative surge forecasts in view of their implications to ship maneuvering in confined waters and harbor approaches.
