GM EXPANDS C-4 SYSTEM USE
An expanded version of the Computer Controlled Catalytic Converter (C-4) system first introduced in GM's California cars in 1979 will be used on 1981 spark-ignited General Motors engine families. The carbureted C-4 system will allow GM to meet 1981 emissions standards while attaining good fuel economy with good performance and driveability. The three-way catalytic converter is an important part of the C-4 system.
