AUTOMATING THE OPERATION OF THE METRO IN AMSTERDAM, HOLLAND
DIE DETRIEBSAUTOMATISIERUNG DER METRO AMSTERDAM
A train protection and automatic control system is described. The entire sequence of operations is controlled and monitored by a central traffic directing station. During regular operation, the sequence of operations is automated. With this, trains are automatically directed by a linear train control, at which the computer controlled system guarantees maintenance of running time with a minimum consumption of energy.
