EVALUATION OF SAVINGS FOR UNDERGROUND CONSTRUCTION
The article reports on a study to evaluate the savings on tunnel construction projects if better contracting practices are followed. Case studies are used to determine the savings, in time and money, if claims had been prevented or settled promptly. The report, Better Contracting for Underground Construction (1974), which recommends improved contracting practices, was used as a guide in this evaluation.
