A STUDY ON MOTION CHARACTERISTICS OF ROLL-ON/ROLL-OFF VESSELS (THE SECOND REPORT: MANEUVERABILITY)
In the previous paper (Mitsui Technical Review No. 105), the results of a study in the area of the seakeeping quality of roll-on/roll-off vessels was reported. This paper presents the results in the area of maneuverability. Using two kinds of roll-on/roll-off vessel models, namely Ship A (with single screw propeller and single rudder) and Ship B (with twin screw propellers and twin rudders) built at MES, Model experiments were carried out at the square basin of Ship Research Institute of Japan.
