GEOTECHNICAL CLASSIFICATION OF SOILS. (1) NOTE ON THE LCP CLASSIFICATION
CLASSIFICATION GEOTECHNIQUE DES SOLS - 1) A PROPOS DE LA CLASSIFICATION LPC
The geotechnical classification of soils adopted by the Laboratoires des Ponts et Chaussees in 1965 was completed in 1974 by a detailed classification of organic soils. The author recalls the complete lpc classification which can now be used systematically following the development of the von post wetting test. Details are given of conditions of use for all soil mechanics studies, except for earthworks problems for which a special classification was established. (TRRL)
