TRACTION CROSS-BONDS AND AC TRACK CIRCUITS
A combination of cross-bonds and broken rails poses problems for all audiofrequency track circuits. Recommendations are made for minimizing the problem by using a center-tapped impedance bond for the cross-bond connection, or if the track circuit is inherently protected from run-around feeds from adjacent track circuits, then the problem may be avoided completely by having only one cross-bond per track circuit.
