Micromobility Potential in the US, UK and Germany
This report analyzed the data from millions of car trips to determine cities where micromobility services, such as shared electric scooters and shared bicycles could have the most impact replacing vehicle trips. The focus was on vehicle trips of three miles or less. The top 25 US cities, top 5 UK cities, and top 5 German cities with micromobility potential are ranked. Neighborhoods with a high percentage of short car trips would benefit most from micromobility options. The mapping of vehicle trips by census block is highlighted as a tool for prioritizing investments in micromobility and mapping data from Los Angeles, New York, London, and Munich is analyzed.
