VOLUNTARY TRANSPORT SURVEY - HAMPSHIRE
The survey of voluntary transport was carried out in Hampshire to evaluate the extent of unconventional transport services operated by volunteers, following the decline in conventional bus services. It was thought desirable to assess the voluntary transport available, its scope, effectiveness and its cost to organisations, and also to identify problems in operating minibuses whether legal, mechanical, logistic or financial. Ways are suggested in which support or advice might be given to communities, or voluntary organisations, to make their self-help efforts more effective. (TRRL)
