Proceedings of the 69th Highway Geology Symposium (HGS 2018)

The Highway Geology Symposium (HGS) was established to foster a better understanding and closer cooperation between geologists and civil engineers in the highway industry. The HGS held its first meeting on March 14, 1950, in Richmond, Virginia. At this 69th Symposium, which was held in Portland, Maine, 31 papers were presented; of these, eight were papers delivered by Young Authors. The papers were all presented at the technical sessions. The subjects covered issues related to rockfalls, rockslides, landslides, slope stabilization, bridge foundations and photogrammetry.
