East Hills - Campbelltown railway and infrastructure

Work is progressing on two major SFiA projects in the south western suburbs of Sydney. Both were announced by the Premier on 15th September, 1983, as Government initiatives taken to provide iob opportunites in N. S. W. The first of these projects. the duplication of the final 6’/2 km of the East Hills Branch line is well into construction and is due to be commissioned mid 1985‘ The second project, the linking of this line with the Main South at Glenfield, is still in the design phase, although some preliminary field work has been completed. Commissioning is planned for late 1986.
