The Homebush Bay rail link

The Homebush Bay Rail Link is a new heavy rail link including a major station, now in final stages of construction, to serve the rapidly developing sporting, exhibition, commercial and recreational facilities at Homebush Bay. The link is being developed by Olympic Co-ordination Authority and will be operational in time for the first Royal Easter Show at the new Sydney Showground at Homebush Bay in April 1998. The link will be the major public transport service for the 2000 Olympic Games events at Homebush Bay, and is expected to deliver 30 trains per hour, carrying 50,000 passengers per hour during the Olympic Games.
