Track managers computer system (TMCS)

A Track Manager's Computer System (TMCS) has been developed as a result of the completion in March 92 by Mainway Consulting of the Proposal for a Pilot Scheme on 242 District, Grafton, commissioned in November 1991 by Mr. P. Turner, Infrastructure Manager, Northern Region. This Computer System is suitable for installation into any Track Manager's District throughout the SRA. In March 92, Mr. A. Churchill, Division Engineer, Grafton arranged for Mainway Consulting to install the Track Manager's Computer System (TMCS) into 243 District, Casino. This work was completed on May 1 , 1992. As a result of this installation at Casino, it was apparent that several minor changes were necessary to accommodate the differences between Districts, but the basic concept of the computer System was sound and it was readily installed into another District. It has also since been installed into Newcastle District and Wagga District. The Track Manager's Computer System was developed under the detailed direction of the District Track Manager Grafton, specifically for his own use. The concept, first and foremost was to provide a management tool to assist the Track Manager in running his District.
