Sydenham area resignalling

The Signals and Communications Branch has been involved in major projects since the early 1970s with the aim of replacing life expired signalling equipment and introducing new technology into centralised control centres signal boxes. The first major signal box was at Sydney and this controls Sydney Yard, Central Electric Station, Eastern Suburbs Railway and out to Erskineville and Macdonaldtown. Subsequent projects have been: - - North Coast - Centralised Traffic Control. - Strathlield Area resignalling. - Junee- Albury- Centralised Traffic Control. - lllawarra Electrification- Wollongong Control Centre. - Aberdeen - Werris Creek- Centralised Traffic Control.
