TERRESTRIAL PHOTOGRAPHY. METHODS AND APPLICATION

PRESENTATIONSTEKNIK, FOTOMONTAGE. METODER AND ANVAENDNING

First, the report gives an overall orientation about terrestrial photography in order to obtain as good photo quality as possible. Camera, films, optics, choice of filters and surveying of tangents and camera points are discussed. One section deals with computer generated perspective plots. Various possibilities are shown of how to make photo-plot montage and to improve the drawings made by an automatic plotter so that the final visual effect corresponds to the need in different planning stages. The examples shown will help the user to choose a suitable method. A method of making a perspective plot using a small programmable calculator is presented together with retouching and montage. The possibility of the 80's to make more profound perspective studies using a computer system is reviewed. The kinds of methods are already used by some enterprises. The advantages of aerial photographs to show rapidly and over a longer stretch an overall view of a proposed road design are described. Oblique as well as vertical photographs are discussed with examples on working methods, materials and performance time. (TRRL)
