An Innovative Business Model on the Integration of MaaS (Mobility as a Service) and Consuming Service in China

Mobility as a service (MaaS) is the integration of various forms of transport service into a single mobility service accessible on demand. In order to improve the attractiveness of MaaS service, based on the rapidly flourishing development of mobile internet inundated with all kinds of consumer services, such as eating out, travelling, movie watching, entertainment, etc., this paper proposed an innovative business model that integrates MaaS service with the internet consumer services through the provision of discounted mobility service by consumer service providers after booking or finishing the consumer services, and technically realized through a QR code produced by a mobile app, which will empower both types of services, increase the volume of MaaS service while attracting and enlarging more consumers, and at the same time, also relieving the government’s financial subsidy pressure on public transportation services.
