NOISE PROTECTION ON ROADS. BASIS FOR PLANNING; SYSTEMS USING CONCRETE

LAERMSCHUTZ AN STRASSEN. PLANUNGSGRUNDLAGEN, SYSTEME AUS BETON

This publication describes 24 noise barrier systems using concrete. These include both walls and steep banks planted with vegetation which are made up of concrete sections joined together and filled with earth. Details are given of the system produced by each manufacturer covering construction details, properties, effectiveness, variation-possibilities and special features. This deals with, in brief form, the physical basis and theories of noise diffusion. In addition the most important stipulations from the current codes of practice are given with the diagrams and tables contained in these which cover sound technical geometrical design of barriers and the use of these shown in examples. The main value of the book lies in the almost complete list of systems using concrete available on the market. (TRRL)
