STUDY DESIGN: PEDESTRIAN OBSERVANCE OF REGULATIONS AT PEDESTRIAN OPERATED SIGNAL CROSSINGS IN COMPARISON WITH ZEBRA CROSSINGS

This study design has been prepared for a survey to monitor the effect, on pedestrian observance of regulations, of the conversion of existing zebra crossings to pedestrian operated signal crossings. The overall aim is to determine whether the extra delay to pedestrians associated with pedestrian operated signal crossings encourages pedestrians to violate regulatory requirements. Prepared for the Road Safety and Traffic Authority (A). (TRRL)
