A New Travel Demand Model for London: Estimation of the Mode and Destination Choice Models

This report documents RAND Europe's development of a mode-destination choice model for transportation in London. Transport for London (TfL) commissioned RAND Europe to develop a strategic travel model for London, called the New Demand Model (NDM). The model will be used to develop strategic land use and transport policy forecasts to aid in prioritization and longterm investment in London's transportation systems. The new model is intended to enhance TfL's strategic modeling capability and to reflect recent changes in travel behavior. Though the primary audience for this report is TfL, it will also be of interest to transportation researchers and planners involved in demand forecasting, strategic planning, and travel demand modeling.
