EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF CURVED REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAMS UNDER A POINT LOAD

This paper presents an investigation conducted on three different design methods of horizontally curved reinforced concrete beams. Test results of three beams, fixed at the supports and subjected to a point load, are reported. The beams were designed by the three methods. The suitability of the design methods is discussed on the basis of observed behaviour, strength and collapse mode, and by comparing the quantity of steel required in each beam (A). (TRRL)
