UPGRADED THIRD GENERATION INFORMATION FLOW REQUIREMENTS ANALYSIS. VOLUME III. APPENDICES

Four appendices are included as support to the requirements analysis. Appendix A, entitled 'Representative Air-Ground Communications', is a transcript of recorded air-ground communications that occurred during a recent flight between Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia. Appendix B, entitled 'Current Air Activity and Communications Flow', provides a collection of available statistics and data relative to current levels of air activity and communications. Appendix C, entitled 'Collision Avoidance Critical Communication Delay in the Future Terminal Area', briefly treats the parameters involved in a real-time controller-aircraft loop with identification of the various time elements around the loop. Appendix D, entitled 'The UTG Environment', projects the future environment that most probably will affect upgraded third generation communications.
