SINGLE FLUID FOR ALL TRANSMISSIONS?
Exxon researchers have concluded that a single automatic transmission fluid can meet all requirements of the Dexron-II and M2C138-CJ specifications. This fluid also met M2C33-F (Type F) specifications prior to Type F specification changes early in 1978. The Dexron-II/CJ fluid did not cause clutch plate damage or band slippage when tested in transmissions designed for Type F fluids.
