MATHEMATICAL PRINCIPLES FOR PROGRAMMING OF POCKET CALCULATORS FOR ACCIDENT RECONSTRUCTION
MATHEMATISCHE GRUNDLAGEN FUER DIE PROGRAMMIERUNG VON TASCHENRECHNERN ZUR UNFALLREKONSTRUKTION
The final part of this paper is published in volume 6, 1979, pp 123-130. The calculation model used for describing the movement of vehicles involved in traffic accidents should prove useful in obtaining the maximum accuracy in calculating the required parameters. The complete system of equations used in the program which was specially developed for the capacity of the Texas instruments ti-59 pocket calculator, is intended to provide the most important data for an accident analysis. Up to the present, the three most important aspects covered are the braking and acceleration of vehicles as well as collision reconstruction; further extensions are being prepared, e.g. Calculation aids for curve measurement, vehicle path analysis, special cases of skidding movements or amateur photogrammetry.
