THE INFLUENCE OF ALKALIS ON THE STRENGTH PROPERTIES OF PORTLAND CEMENT
DER EINFLUSS VON ALKALIEN AUF DIE FESTIGKEITSEIGEN SCHAFTEN - THE INFLUENCE OF ALKALIS ON THE STRENGTH PROPERTIES OF
The linear regression analysis of the mix-design and strength of 31 cements of identical fineness and gypsum content from 31 clinker production plants showed that variation in strength after 28 days can be attributed mainly to different alkali contents. The regression analysis seems to indicate a certain influence of the alkali on strength after 28 days of the order of -10 mpa for percentage of soluble alkali expressed as equivalent of k20. It also seems to show a positive effect on strength after 1 and 3 days. The results of regression analyses were confirmed by tests. (TRRL)
