USE OF BITUMEN-SULPHUR BINDERS IN BITUMINOUS MIXTURES FOR ROADBASES
EMPLIO DEL LIGANTE BETUN-AZUFRE EN MEXCLAS ASFALTICAS PARA BASES Y PAVIMENTOS
Bitumen-sulphur binders are increasingly used in bituminous surfacings and roadbases. This is due to the increase in the cost of bitumen, increase in the surplus of sulphur and to the fact that the fatigue strength and modulus of deformation are improved by the addition of sulphur. Results are given of tests carried out on an experimental sector, and conclusions are presented regarding the economic and functional aspects of this type of bituminous mixture. (TRRL)
