ECONOMIC DESIGN OF MEDIUM AND MINOR HIGHWAY BRIDGES - 4

The concluding part of the paper discusses, first, the manner in which design loads and forces are to be considered. It then gives guidelines for selecting the most efficient cross-section. Rational design procedures which simulate closely the actual behaviour of the structure are also dealt with. The paper concludes with roles of standardisation and prefabrication in economic design.(a) (TRRL)
