STRENGTH - STRUCTURE RELATIONSHIPS OF CEMENT PASTE MATERIALS. PART 2. METHODS AND BASIC MATERIAL DATA FOR STUDYING STRENGTH AND FAILURE PROPERTIES
This report describes the various methods that have been developed and used to examine the strength properties of cement paste materials. The press equipment available for this purpose is described in some detail, together with the various devices constructed for applying a suitably distributed fracture load to the specimens in compressive and tensile strength testing of several different types. The principles of microhardness testing, and the devices developed for this type of test are also described. (TRRL)
