TRANSPORT INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENT: THE KEY TO A BETTER FUTURE

The author, chairman of British Railways Board, argues that the railways are well equipped to withstand the energy crisis. He reviews the advances made by BR, in passenger transport with the development of the new APT (advanced passenger train), and the reorganization of freight transport to meet the needs of British industry more effectively.
