An efficient, energy-saving vehicle 1/8 the weight of a car and which travels 50 times as far per gallon of gas equivalent is described. It is an 4-wheel mini-car made of bicycle parts which can be pedaled, and runs on a one-horsepower 12-volt motor. Since the vehicle is designed for senior citizens, the speed is limited to 8 mph. The battery can carry it 20 miles on level ground, and can be recharged overnight at a wall outlet at a cost of about 0.1 cent per mile. A soar charger may also be used. This minicar developed in California is legal on all roads (except freeways), on bike lanes, and even on sidewalks (in some areas).
