ELECTRIC VEHICLES: VIVE LA DIFFERENCE
Electric vehicle developers are struggling to overcome the differences in performance between electric- and gasoline- powered vehicles, when we should really be recognizing and taking advantage of the benefits of those same differences. The requirements and constraints now put on the developing electric car industry serve mainly to throttle it's efforts. Once these requirements are fulfilled, electric cars will be too encumbered with armor and battery weight to save much more energy than other highway vehicles. The differences inherent in electric drive define a variety of totally new transportation options.
