THE ENERGY ASPECTS OF THREE PHASE CURRENT PROPULSION FOR A.C. LOCOMOTIVES
ENERGETISCHE ASPEKTE DES DREHSTROMANTRIEBES FUER WECHSELSTROMLOKOMOTIVEN
The three-phase locomotive with a 50 Hz supply frequency can only be constructed in an economical manner by using semiconductor techniques. One disadvantage is the poor power factor, and the article discusses circuits to improve this. Three-phase current propulsion opens up new prospects.
