THE BARRIER EFFECTS OF TRAFFIC FACILITIES 1: DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM, CONCEPT ANALYSIS AND THEORY A STUDY OF LITERATURE
TRAFIKANLAEGGNINGARS BARRIAEREFFEKTER 1: PROBLEMBESKRIVNING, BEGREPPSANALYS OCH TEORIANSATS - EN LITTERATURSTUDIE
The restrictions in the freedom of movement of pedestrians and cyclists which are caused by traffic and traffic facilities, and the consequences on social life which such restrictions lead to, are called barrier effects. The aim of this report was to (1) illuminate the extent of the problem (2) explain the conception "barrier effect" and different aspects of it (3) describe a preliminary theoretical model for barrier effects to illuminate the connections between the included components and develop a better comprehension of the problem area.
