ANALYSIS OF CONTINUOUS BRIDGES USING A GENERALISED COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR SECONDARY MOMENTS DEVELOPED DUE TO PRESTRESSING, SHRINKAGE, CREEP AND TEMPERATURE

Modern express highways and flyovers in heavily built up urban areas often require their construction curved horizontally and/or vertically with the deck being bifurcated somewhere along length. Such structures present great difficulty if manual methods of calculation are employed for their analysis. They can however, be analysed accurately and economically using a generalised computer programme. In an earlier paper the method of analysis of such bridges using a generalised computer programme for the self weight and imposed loading had been presented. In this paper a method of analysis for the secondary moments developed due to prestressing, shrinkage and creep and temperature are presented. (a) (TRRL)
