EXHAUST EMISSION CONTROL IN THE CVCC ENGINE SYSTEM

Exhaust emission characteristics of the Honda CVCC engine system are presented. In particular, the relations between indicated specific fuel consumption (ISFC) and hydrocarbon and nitrogen oxide emissions are presented graphically, as are those between the ISFC and various operating factors. The paper describes improvements to the Honda 1500 Series CVCC engine systems, which met successive Japanese and U.S. emission control standards without the need for major modification. (a) (TRRL)
