ICEBREAKER NAVIGATION AND ASSISTANCE TECHNIQUES 1877-1977
The paper reviews the development of Finnish icebreakers from the beginning in 1890, when the first icebreaker, "Murtaja", was completed. Ice conditions in the Gulf of Bothnia and operation of icebreakers today in this area are discussed in some detail. Order from NSFI as No. 19953.
