TORSIONAL STRENGTH AND STIFFNESS OF STEEL STRUCTURES

The premise of this paper is that a simple thin-walled tube formula, v=M/A sub o, can be applied to box girders, to many trussed structures, and to structures containing both plates and truss forms. The paper mentions and explains various formulas and equations derived from the thin-walled tube formula for calculating shearing force, moment equilibrium, torsional strength and stiffness, and etc.
