IMPORTANCE OF ACCESSIBILITY MEASURES IN TRIP PRODUCTION MODELS
Most trip production models used in transport studies are expressed in terms of socio-economic variables only. Yet it is an established fact that as the ease of travel between areas (accessibility) improves, so does the number of trips. This paper outlines some of the results obtained through incorporating accessibility measures into the traditional trip production model.(a) (TRRL) most common being at mid-bearing on the propellor shaft for hgv's and psv's. The actuating mechanism is controlled by microswitches fitted to brake pedal and in some cases also to the accelerator pedal. The retarder is cut out below 300 rpm so that the vehicle's braking system always has to be used to halt the vehicle.
